Welcome:

2012 Reasons to come to the 2012 Calgary Regional Bridge Tournament

(more or less)

It will be three years since Calgary has hosted a Regional tournament and after great successes in Red Deer (2010) and Edmonton (2011), we are up for the challenge. Other than the usual great camaraderie and hospitality you will find at an Alberta tournament, we think you would enjoy Calgary as a great destination in itself. Over the past twenty-five years the city has grown probably faster than any other urban metropolis in North America. The economy is fueled by a prosperous energy industry, research and development, technology, agriculture, tourism (we hosted the 1988 winter Olympics), real estate, marketing and transportation hub – and an exuberant western entrepreneurial spirit. I think that is attributable to the blue skies, clean air, sunny temperate climate,  with spectacular vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains in the west to the equally dramatic panoramas of the expansive Badlands to the east. The Calgary bridge community and Unit 390 is growing, offer bridge games every day of the week and has an active novice program and lessons for students of the game at every level.
